Lessons

Private and small group lessons are available at Horsepower Farm under the instruction of Pam Hayes-Houldin. For the last 30 years Pam has been teaching all levels of riding abilities and experience..

After a personalized goal plan has been established, Pam teaches all beginners balance seat, focusing on the rider-horse connection and balance. With 20 horses Pam can match an appropriate horse with each rider.  Riders will spend time on a lunge line dev eloping core strength, and independent seat and body awareness, while havine fun and enhancing self confidence.  From there riders can safely choose recreational riding for trail work, dressage, Hunt Seat or vaulting, culminating in satisfaction and even the occasional local show.

Additionally, lessons will include:

  • Horse psychology and behavior
  • Safe horse handling
  • Horse care, stable management and basic training techniques
  • Grooming and tacking
  • Clinics with outside instructors

The facility includes a beautiful 200 year old bank barn with a nice indoor work area, a large outdoor ring with light sand mix footing, a fenced field for cross country work and lots of trails for trail riding.
